Numismatist
Editor of MünzenWoche & Multi-Tasker with Great Attention to Detail
Daniel Baumbach is a child of post-reunification Berlin with a passion for history. He studied History, Art History and Collecting in Greifswald and Erfurt and demonstrated his sense of humour by writing his master’s thesis on Christian Wermuth’s satirical medals. Alongside his studies, he also worked at a coin cabinet in Gotha, where his stock revision and inventorying duties afforded him access to everything the world of numismatics has to offer. Since November 2019, he’s been here with us in Lörrach, putting everything he’s learned in practice.
Here I am puzzling over archaeological finds at a Scottish open-air museum. I’m just as interested – if not more so – in puzzling over the past, whether that’s in a reading chair, with a coin in my hand or while travelling. There are plenty of puzzling opportunities in the office, too. As a versatile “Jack of all trades”, I’m responsible for all kinds of upcoming projects.
